Fitness Questions
Am I doing this right? Keep reading…

1) What are reps and Sets?!
REPS: How many lifts you do in a row EX: 12
SETS: That’s how many times you do the REPS: 3 SETS of 12 with rest in between.

2) How do I know how much weight to use?
Start with 3-5 lbs on each exercise. If by rep 12 you don’t feel any burn in the targeted muscle, move the weight up! You want a really good burn by the time you get to the end of the reps.

3) How do I know if the weights are too heavy?
You will know! If you feel any pain in your back, lower your weight. You don’t want to compensate in any way.

4) Will I use the same weights for every exercise?
No, you will most likely need 2 different weights (ex: 5lbs and 8 lbs). Your biceps will be able to lift more and your shoulders will lift less. They are smaller muscles and thus lift less weight.

5) Can I work out 7 days a week?
You need a day of rest each week. Your body needs time to rebuild itself. If you work out 7 days, you are likely to burn out quickly and also increase your risk of injury.
